Last week, students from 12 leading European universities gathered at the MIAS CTU campus for the international ATHENS course – an intensive program focused on real-world applications of AI and data in business and society. A group of 30 students from nine vibrant cities had the chance to expand their expertise and learn directly from top industry professionals and renowned academics.
Experts from ADASTRA, HPE, IBM, MSD, Personal Connect, SAP, CIIRC and MIAS introduced participants to the latest trends and hands-on innovations in AI and data technologies, creating a stimulating environment for learning, collaboration, and networking.
The November program offered a dynamic mix of topics focused on one key theme: how modern AI is transforming business and society. From industrial optimization and marketing to sovereign AI and practical applications of large language models, participants gained an inspiring look at how companies are rethinking product design, customer communication, and everyday operations. Alongside technical insights, it highlighted AI’s societal impact, emerging trends in recruitment and career development, and new ways to streamline HR processes.
Our sincere thanks go to all lecturers for their dedication, expertise, and enthusiasm. With the support of companies from diverse industries, we were able to provide students with a comprehensive and engaging perspective on the topic.
Outside the classroom, students took part in a rich cultural program featuring visits to the National Gallery Prague, the National Technical Museum, and a guided tour of the Estates Theatre – making the ATHENS week not only academically enriching but also culturally unforgettable.
The ATHENS courses at MIAS, offered twice a year, bring together students from across Europe for a dynamic international learning experience. Participants deepen their skills in data management and AI, exchange ideas with peers, and build meaningful global connections while enjoying the atmosphere of the Czech Technical University and the city of Prague.
